Thinking Decisions
finding the way forward for you and your business

A people focused Business Leader, Mentor and Coach

After first tasting business success at the age of 20 in the tourism industry David formalised his business education working for both Shell and IBM. His success led him into his first small business and within three years, at the age of 30, David was running the company having grown its sales by over 500%. He raised equity finance, acquired companies and opened offices in Europe and Africa before selling the business to a plc five years later.

For the next 15 years David ran mainly technology focused organisations ranging from small start-ups to larger public companies. He has operated across all disciplines helping drive decisions and make strategic decisions that drive shareholder value,

He built sales teams ranging from as 2 to 100; transitioned a hardware dominated IT company into a higher margin software and services company; took a £7m loss making organisation into a cash generative one within two years; raised finance, leading a management buy-out and eventual sale of the company; opened an off-shore business in India and re-positioned many companies to be leaders in their field.

Having mentored and coached many successful people throughout his career and with a strong conviction that it is people that make a business successful, David set up Thinking Decisions in 2008. The objective was to provide a place for business leaders, executives and professionals to go when they need support from someone who had been there and done it.

Since then David has worked with many individuals who have been facing tough challenges. He has helped them identify the way forward, not just for their business but also for themselves, and worked alongside them to achieve the desired results. He has helped people approach life's challenges in a calm and confident way, providing focus and attention to create a better future.

He has operated as a board adviser to a software product company, a mentor to the chief executive of a technology services company, chairman of an information management consultancy and coach to many executives undergoing transformational change.

David is a strong advocate of thinking mindfully and maintains his own mindfulness practice. He believes that by being present in the moment and accepting without judgement brings substantial benefits. Combined with his use of Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy techniques he can help create the right environment for his clients to reduce the anxieties and stress that distract us from achieving our ambitions.

As well as being a qualified Executive Coach (AoEC) he holds a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (UKCHH), is an NLP Master Coach (ABNLP and ANLP), a Coach Supervisor and Mindfulness Teacher. He is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) , the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), and the Non-Executive Directors Association (NEDA).
